The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), Sri Lanka Apparel Sourcing Association (SLASA), Sri Lanka High Commission in the UK, and Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) have collaboratively organized an unique export promotion programme titled “Sourced Sri Lanka” – Textile & Apparel Roadshow in the UK.
Sri Lanka Export Development Board organised Sri Lanka participation’s for the 2nd time at the “THAIFEX – Anuga Asia -2024”, an international food fair held in Bangkok, Thailand from 28th May to 01st June 2024 with Six Sri Lankan food processing companies and one startup company to promote agriculture products such as food & beverages, tea, coconut kernel products, fruits, and spices.
The Export Development Board (EDB) partnered with Germany's Import Promotion Desk (IPD) to conduct an improvement training session aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of a selected group of export-ready, women-led businesses in the area of costing and pricing. In a landmark move aimed at propelling Sri Lanka’s export sector to new heights, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) and People’s Bank have entered into a strategic partnership.

The merchandise export performance in March 2024 amounted to US$ 1,138.9 million, recorded an increase of 9.77 % compared to March 2023. Furthermore, export performance in March 2024 increased by 7.51 % compared to the preceding month, February 2024. In a significant move towards attracting export-oriented businesses to Port City Colombo, CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd recently entered into a partnership with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB).
A delegation from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), the competent authority responsible for food safety and security in Singapore, visited Sri Lanka from the 25th to the 28th of March. The delegation was headed by Dr. Abdul Jalil Abdul Karder, Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Operations), along with two other officers from the Joint Operation Division of the SFA. The purpose of the visit was to conduct pre-inspections of slaughterhouses in Sri Lanka that have applied for licenses from the SFA in Singapore, with the objective of assessing the potential of Sri Lankan companies to be approved as sources of poultry products for Singapore.
