The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) is excited to announce the upcoming "EDB Open Day" event - a one-day program – which will take place on Thursday, 15th June, 2023, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at the EDB, No 42, Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 02. The event will provide a valuable platform for potential exporters, small and medium-scale entrepreneurs, Start-ups and innovative thinkers to explore the opportunities in the export field and know the services offered by the EDB.
Sri Lanka’s merchandise exports decreased by 16.15 % to US$ 814.1 Million in April 2023 compared to April 2022. Moreover, it is a 0.5 % decrease when compared to April 2021.
An Industry Networking Event and a Technical Workshop on Electronic Assembly were held on 25th May 2023 at the Department of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa, in association with the IPC India, Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), and Sri Lanka Electronic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (SLEMEA).
Sri Lanka’s merchandise exports decreased by 1.96 % to US$ 1,037.5 Million in March 2023 compared to March 2022. Moreover, it is a 5.14 % decrease when compared to March 2021. Less demand created for major products in major markets due to the current economic situation further continues.
In an event held in Colombo on the 28th of April 2023, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) made public the National Organic Certification Mark (NOCM) to increase consumers’ awareness on organic food production. The event was organized by the National Organic Control Unit (NOCU) of the EDB, in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Sri Lanka, co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
