South Asia’s First LIVE 5G Showcase Demonstrates Future of 5G

Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, demonstrated industrial applications of 5G at their live 5G showcase at Dialog Iconic. The showcase was launched on the 2nd of April in the presence of Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports, Harin Fernando, Minister of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology, Ajith P. Perera and the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Sri Lanka Tan Yang Thai.

The 5G showcase which followed the success of connecting a 5G smartphone to its 5G network, exhibited real-world examples to industry leaders and the Sri Lankan public, to help visualise the technology and its potential applications that will drive the fourth industrial revolution, including the power of artificial intelligence, enabling smart cities, and connectivity to billions of appliances (IoT).
