The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) recently hosted a successful networking and knowledge-sharing session at its headquarters in Colombo 02. The event brought together 100 new exporters and entrepreneurs, including SME direct and indirect exporters, along with industry leaders from five key sectors Gem & Jewellery, Tea, Processed Food, Horticulture, and Fresh Fruits.

The session provided a valuable platform for new exporters to gain insights from seasoned professionals. A distinguished panel of speakers shared their expertise on critical aspects of global trade.

Mr. Chanaka Ellawala, Director – Ellawala Exports (Pvt) Ltd, highlighted opportunities in the ethnic jewellery market and shared real-life experiences of entering and succeeding in the Gem & Jewellery sector.

Ms. Thushari Weerakoon, Managing Director – Ramya Horticulture (Pvt) Ltd, emphasized the importance of building strong, long-term relationships with buyers, noting that some of her clients have been with the company for over 20 years.
