The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is making arrangements to organize the first-ever Sri Lanka pavilion at Foodex Saudi 2024, from 16th to 19th September, 2024, in Riyadh. This pavilion will spotlight six Sri Lankan export companies and EDB stall, showcasing a diverse range of food products that reflect the rich agricultural and culinary heritage of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Pavilion is located at D40 slot in the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Foodex Saudi is one of the most prominent food industry trade fairs in the region, attracting over 15,000 trade professionals, buyers, and investors. It provides an excellent platform for Sri Lankan companies to connect with key players from the Saudi Arabian food and beverage industry, including representatives from the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Café/Catering) sector, distribution, wholesale, and food supply chains.
By participating in this event, Sri Lanka aims to strengthen its presence in the Saudi market, which recorded a 1.8% increase in exports in 2023, with a total export value of USD 99.09 Mn. The pavilion will emphasize the country’s wide range of value-added food products, including tea, coconut-based products, spices, fruits, vegetables, and processed foods, catering to the growing demand for high-quality, innovative food solutions in Saudi Arabia.
