International Food & Drink Event (IFE) is the largest and most effective International Trade Exhibition for the Food and beverages sector in the UK which brings together more food & drink buyers and suppliers and has a legacy of over 40 years of delivering high quality and effective business connections.

The event provides an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products, network with potential buyers, and stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in the food and beverage sector.

Sri Lanka’s Trade with UK

The UK is the second largest export market for Sri Lankan products, with exports to the UK reaching USD 903 million in 2024. As a beneficiary of the UK Developing Countries Trading Scheme (UK DCTS), 92% of Sri Lanka’s export products are eligible for duty-free access to the UK market.

The UK food and drink sector is a major part of the economy and is expected to continue growing annually by 4.15% from 2024 to 2029. This growth indicates a robust demand for diverse food products, including those from international markets.

Sri Lanka's food and beverage industry, especially spices, tea, fishery products, and coconut kernel products benefit from this duty-free access under the UK DCTS, significantly enhancing their competitiveness in the UK market. Given these advantages, there is a strong imperative to implement export promotion strategies to further penetrate the UK market by leveraging the UK DCTS.

Sri Lanka pavilion at IFE 2025

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Sri Lanka High Commission in the UK, is making arrangements to organize a Sri Lanka pavilion at the International Food and Drink Event 2025 (IFE 2025), which will be held from 17^th to 19^th March 2025 in London, U.K., to promote Sri Lanka’s value added Food and Beverage (F&B) products.

Sri Lankan companies promoted a range of processed food products at IFE 2025, including value-added food and beverage offerings such as coconut kernel products, value-added black tea, processed food, coconut water, dehydrated fruits, health and natural products, vegan and organic food products, as well as ready-to-eat options. Additionally, frozen delights like kottu, patties, and rotti specifically cater to the ethnic market in the UK, which is considered as an attractive niche.

A space of 54 sqm was reserved for the Sri Lanka Pavilion at IFE 2025 to accommodate eight companies. The pavilion is located at Stand No. 2870 at N10 Hall.
