Pol Roti (Coconut Flat Bead)

Earning rave reviews in Sri Lanka, this is another local favourite. A little water and salt is mixed with wheat flour, to which scraped coconut is added. The well kneaded mixture is rolled flat and cut into circular shapes. These are grilled just right on either side in a hot pan. The result – a delicious flat bread that cries out for a hot curry and with some lunu miris or pol sambol. It goes quite well with butter too! The blast frozen pack of 6 pieces is just enough for a small family. Reheating instructions provided on pack. Preservatives are not added.

Godamba Roti  (Cooked Dough Sheets)

Koththu Roti – Flat dough pieces

Recycling leftover Roti resulted in a popular Sri Lanka delicacy. Now you can have the fresh product. Grilled Roti cut into strips, packed and blast frozen. It is a versatile product that can be combined with your favourite meat or fish and vegetables – and even eggs. Pan fry with a little oil and season to taste. On occasion, a little tomato ketchup may be added to the mix. It is best when spicy and hot!
