With the vision of achieving the status of a global hub for electronics, the Industry has now formulated Research and Development initiatives through state agencies such as the Ministry of Scientific Affairs and specially the Co-ordination Secretariat for Science Technology and Innovation (COSTI) which comes under its purview. Industry works in close liaison with the Universities and Academic Institutions and has been maintaining sustainable relationships with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board as well as with the Board of Investment and other state agencies including the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Sri Lanka Electronic Manufactures and Exporters Association (SLEMEA) was formulated with the intention of empowering and meeting challenges faced by the industry.
