The Sri Lankan Electrical and Electronic sector has been a long-standing player in this industry with enhanced experience in producing LV distribution and transmission equipment, components, and systems. The sector has a wide range of experience in manufacturing, supply and installation of transformers, substations, distribution components. Further, the cable manufacturing and transmission component manufacturing capability within the industry has provided enhanced export possibilities into different parts of the world. The more recent focus in Renewable energy has resulted in newer entrants in the areas such as Solar Panel manufacturers, and Component manufacturers for other renewable technologies.
The Sri Lankan power generation export sector is currently being represented by several Sri Lankan owned multinational companies, subsidiaries, branches and production plants of renowned international brands and include home-grown small to large scale power generation equipment and component manufacturers, as well as service and solution providers who are making a name for themselves in the global power generation industry. These manufacturers mainly engage in the production of High/Low voltage transformers, steel accessories used for electricity generating, transmitting, and distributing process, steel fabrications, solar power equipment and panels and setting up hydro power plants. Some of the companies have contributed towards powering an innumerable number of businesses to households in the country and around the world by power generation and distribution, and by manufacturing and supplying materials for the purpose of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.
Following stringent quality assurance procedures to ensure perfection, the Sri Lankan power generation exporters conform to internationally accepted quality standards including ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 etc. Some exporters in this sector provide specialised efficient renewable energy solutions to suit residential, commercial, industrial requirements whilst presenting one stop renewable energy solutions for the development of renewable energy systems, and efficient use of energy with increased productivity. Sri Lanka deploys a vast range of energy solutions and hence is an ideal testbed for a large range of Power Generation and Distribution industry components.
