CBI - Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries - is an Agency of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The CBI contributes to sustainable economic development in developing countries through the expansion of exports from these countries. CBI has worked for several years in Sri Lanka providing market intelligence on the European market, coaching exporters to become sustainable exporters to Europe and strengthening the services for exporters of Business Support Organizations like the EDB.
The International Trade Centre is a United Nations Agency and implementing agency of the World Trade Organisation. ITC's mission is to enable small business export success in developing and transition-economy countries, by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers. The organisation strives to strengthen the international competitiveness of enterprises in developing countries and transition economies, to develop the capabilities of trade service providers to support exporters and support policymakers in integrating the private sector into the global economy.
